2.4 Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our platform uses cookies and similar tracking technologies through our Wix hosting platform to enhance your experience and maintain platform functionality. These technologies enable essential platform features that allow you to use our services effectively, provide web analytics and usage statistics that help us improve our platform, remember your preferences and login status so you don't need to re-enter information, and support security measures that protect your account and data.
You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings at any time. However, disabling essential cookies may affect platform functionality and prevent you from accessing certain features.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal information based on several legal bases recognized under Canadian and international privacy law.
We obtain your explicit consent for marketing communications about platform updates and business opportunities, non-essential cookies and tracking technologies that enhance but are not required for platform operation, and promotional content featuring your business in our marketing materials.
We may process data based on our legitimate interests for platform security and fraud prevention that protects all users, content moderation and community safety that maintains platform standards, and technical improvements and analytics that enhance user experience.
We also process information when necessary for contract performance to provide our platform services and fulfill our service agreement with you.

4. How We Use Your Information
4.1 Providing Our Services
We use your information to create and manage user accounts that give you access to platform features, enable content sharing and social networking features that connect you with other users, process business listings and promotional content that showcases your business, facilitate marketplace event connections between organizations and audiences, provide customer support and technical assistance when you need help, and maintain platform security while preventing abuse and fraudulent activities.

4.2 Improving Our Services
We analyze platform usage data to enhance user experience and identify areas for improvement, develop new features and functionality based on user needs and industry trends, conduct research on industry trends and user behavior to better serve our community, and troubleshoot technical issues while performing system maintenance to ensure reliable service.

4.3 Marketing and Communications
We use your information to send newsletters about platform updates and new features, share economic news and market analysis relevant to your industry, promote events and business opportunities that may interest you, and provide personalized content recommendations based on your business category and interests.

5. Content Moderation and User Rights
5.1 Content Ownership
Users retain full copyright ownership of all videos, photos, descriptions, and other original content they upload to our platform. This means you maintain complete control over your intellectual property while granting us a limited license to display and distribute your content as necessary for platform operations.

5.2 Our Moderation Process
Our automated screening system uses Java and Velo scripts to analyze all content for prohibited material before it appears on our platform. New content is temporarily taken offline during this verification process to ensure compliance with our community guidelines. The system automatically detects prohibited keywords and policy violations using predefined criteria.
When content requires additional review, our trained human moderators carefully evaluate questionable material and enforce our community guidelines through fair and consistent application of platform policies.
Our enforcement actions follow a progressive system where first-time violations may result in a private warning message explaining the specific policy violation, second violations lead to account suspension and content removal, and all violations are documented to ensure transparency and support potential appeals.

6. Information Sharing and Disclosure
6.1 Service Providers
We share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our platform and delivering services to you. The Wix Platform provides web hosting, data storage, and technical infrastructure that powers our platform. Analytics providers help us understand usage statistics and generate platform improvement insights. Communication services handle email delivery and customer support tools that enable us to respond to your inquiries.
All service providers are contractually bound to protect your information and use it only as directed by us in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable privacy laws.
6.2 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of the business transaction. We will notify you of any ownership changes affecting your personal information and provide you with choices regarding the continued use of your data under the new ownership.

6.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information when required by court orders or legal proceedings that mandate production of user information, government requests or regulatory compliance obligations under Canadian or international law, or law enforcement investigations where disclosure is legally required or necessary to prevent harm.

6.4 Protection of Rights and Safety
We may disclose information to protect our platform's security and integrity against attacks or abuse, protect users' safety and well-being from threats or harmful activities, or defend our legal rights and property in disputes or legal proceedings.

7. International Data Transfers
Your personal information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your residence, including the United States through our Wix hosting platform. By using our services, you consent to the transfer of your personal information to these jurisdictions, which may have different data protection rules than your country. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place for these transfers as required by PIPEDA and other applicable privacy laws.
For users located in the European Union, we ensure appropriate safeguards for international transfers under GDPR Article 46 through standard contractual clauses with service providers that require them to protect your data, adequacy decisions where applicable that recognize equivalent data protection standards, and additional security measures for cross-border transfers that exceed minimum legal requirements.
We currently serve users in Canada with planned expansion to Latin America, and we will implement appropriate data protection measures as we expand into new jurisdictions.

8. Data Security
We implement comprehensive security measures designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Our technical safeguards include encryption of data during transmission and storage using industry-standard protocols, secure hosting infrastructure through the Wix platform with enterprise-grade security features, regular security assessments and updates to address emerging threats and vulnerabilities, and access controls and authentication protocols that limit who can view and modify sensitive information.
Our organizational safeguards include employee non-disclosure agreements that legally bind staff to protect user privacy, limited access to personal information based on job responsibilities and need-to-know principles, regular staff training on privacy practices and security procedures, and incident response procedures that enable rapid reaction to potential security breaches.
No system is one hundred percent secure, and while we implement industry-standard protections, we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the Internet. By using our platform, you acknowledge this inherent security risk.

9. Data Breach Response
Our detection and assessment procedures include continuous monitoring for unauthorized access through automated security systems, immediate containment of security incidents to prevent further data exposure, and comprehensive risk assessment and impact evaluation to determine the severity and scope of any breach.
We comply with strict notification requirements under applicable privacy laws. Under Canadian PIPEDA, we provide notification as soon as feasible after discovering a breach that poses a real risk of significant harm. Under the EU GDPR, we notify supervisory authorities within 72 hours of becoming aware of a qualifying breach. We provide prompt notification to affected users including detailed information about the breach, potential impacts on their personal information, and protective measures they should take to safeguard themselves.
Our remediation process includes implementing technical fixes and security enhancements to address the vulnerability that caused the breach, deploying additional monitoring and prevention measures to detect similar threats, and maintaining full documentation for regulatory compliance and continuous improvement of our security practices.

10. Data Retention
Personal information is retained only as long as necessary for the fulfillment of the identified purposes and for a minimum of one year after account closure or service termination, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
We maintain specific retention periods for different types of information. Account information including registration details and profile data is retained for the duration of your active account plus one year after closure. Content and posts remain accessible until you delete them or close your account, after which they are retained for one additional year before permanent deletion. Marketing preferences are retained until you withdraw your consent through unsubscribe mechanisms. Security logs are retained as required by applicable laws to support investigations and legal compliance.
Data is automatically removed from Wix systems after retention periods expire, ensuring that outdated personal information does not remain in our systems indefinitely.

11. Your Privacy Rights

You have the right to request access to copies of personal information we hold about you, including details about how we use and share that information. You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information to ensure our records reflect current and truthful data. You have the right to receive your data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format to facilitate portability to other services.

Users located in the European Union have additional rights under the GDPR. You may request restriction to limit how we process your information in certain circumstances. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests when you have grounds relating to your particular situation. You have the right to withdraw consent for specific processing activities at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

11.3 Exercising Your Rights
To exercise any of these privacy rights, contact us by email at info@marktsynch.com with a clear description of your request and the specific rights you wish to exercise. We will respond to your request within 30 days or as otherwise required by applicable law, and we commit to addressing your privacy concerns promptly and professionally.

12. Age Restrictions
Our platform is intended for users who have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate action to remove that information from our systems.

13. Compliance with Privacy Regulations
13.1 Canadian Privacy Law

Our practices meet industry-specific privacy requirements applicable to our business sectors.
